“Books are for use and not for preservation”. With this dictum Sri Vasavi Engineering College Library functions. Hence the Open Access System is followed.

Our library issuing mechanism is fully computerized. All the books are issued and returned through the library software with supported by bar code technology.

All the students of Sri vasavi engineering college are eligible for the membership of the library. However, there are a few rules and regulations to be followed while entering the library, like, bags and baggage's, private books, cases etc. should be deposited at the gate while signing the register. One can enter the library, only if he carries the ID card along with.

The Central Library is mainly for the use of faculty, students and supporting staff of the institution. Faculty members and students can borrow books and reference books.

The library issues tickets to the students for borrowing the books, to keep a track of books issued.

Final Year Students: 4 tickets for 14 days loan + 1 ticket for journals for a period of one week.
Other Students: 4 tickets for 14 days, in addition to that 4 tickets will be issued to SC and ST Students for a period of 4 months.

Each faculty member is given 10 tickets( Eight tickets for books and 2 tickets for journals).in the hour of demand, the journal tickets are also permitted to take issue of books. The duration for books and journals that can be retained without payment of fine is 3 months and 2 weeks respectively.

Non-Teaching/Technical staff: Each staff is issued 2 tickets for issue of books. The books taken on issue can be retained with them for 3 months without payment of fine.

Issue & return of books will be between 9.00 AM and 6.00 PM. from Monday to Friday. The book bank loans are issued in the same timings.

All new books are displayed in the Reference Section. The list of these books is also displayed in the Library Notice Board.

Strict and absolute silence shall be observed in the Library
Bags, Big hand bags and files are strictly prohibited inside the library
No reader shall take any printed materials inside the library. The readers are requested to keep their belongings at the entrance of the library counter.
Borrowed library materials are strictly prohibited to take the same again inside the library.
The counter shall be closed 30 minutes before the closing of the library.
If the due date falls on a holiday for the library, the next working day will be taken as the due date.
Books will be issued to the students only after surrendering the students borrower tickets.
If any book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the person responsible shall replace it with a new copy or pay double the cost of the book.
Books will be issued subject to availability
Any kind of marking, underlying, clipping of books is absolutely for bidden. Readers shall be held responsible for any damage done to the book belonging to the library and shall be required to replace such book or pay the value thereof.
Absence from the college will not be allowed as an excuse for the delay in the return of books.
Under special circumstances, the librarian may refuse the issue of books or recall the books already issued from any member without assigning any reason thereof.
A fine of Rs. 10/- will be charged for each ticket that is lost.
The borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of any book issued against his/her original or duplicate library borrowers ticket.
Reference books, Newspapers and Magazines/journals should not be taken out
